The Peacekeeping dollar was minted to mark the 50th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations and depicts a portion of the Peacekeeping Monument in Ottawa. Created by sculptor Jack K. Harman, the Peacekeeping Monument – The Reconciliation – pays tribute to Canadians to serve as international peacekeepers.
